All XL Tapes are made with an Exclusive Hot Melt Adhesive that is fast melting, odor free and does not smoke. All XL Tapes are made with Silicone Release Paper backing to prevent sticking to carpet pad.

Bonded Scrim Tapes

XL Bonded Scrim Technology involves gluing fiberglass strands across a 40-inch wide sheet of paper, and then slitting the paper into regular tape widths. This method of directly bonding the scrim makes very uniform scrim and very low profile tapes.

Knitted Scrim Tapes

XL Knitted Scrim Technology involves knitting fiberglass into individual fabrics the width of each tape and then gluing the knitted fabrics to the paper before the hot melt adhesive is added.

Knitted Scrim Tapes have higher strength and higher profiles than Bonded Scrim Tapes and are the most commonly used tapes available.

Double Scrim Tapes

XL Double Scrim Tapes are made by combining a knitted scrim and a bonded scrim in the same product. Double Scrim Tapes provide more strength than either bonded or knitted scrim alone.
